How to handle a cat that eats too fast?

My cat eats her food way too quickly. Even when I try to get her to eat slowly by holding the bowl and putting it back down after she swallows properly, she still continues to eat too quickly. Sometimes, she throws the food back up. What should I do to get her used to eating more slowly? How to handle a cat that eats too fast?
feed your cat smaller portionsHow to handle a cat that eats too fast?
Sounds like you have to put her down.
wet the food before you give it to her. it will make it softer and will allow her to digest it better and it wont matter if she swallows it whole because it will be mushy.
What you should try to do is feed your cat small amounts of food at a time, or even feed her small meals through out the day. And before she eats, try to calm her down a bit.
just try giving her a little bit at a time less than usual that way in between feedings her food will digest more properly give her the same amount just in little proportions
That is the way cats like to eat. You will not be able to train her to eat like a human.

About the only thing you can do is feed her smaller portions several times a day.
You can buy ';slow feed'; bowls at the pet stores. I saw them there, they just have four raised dividers inside the bowl part, coming from each corner and not touching in the middle. It helps to teach your pet to eat slower. Maybe you should check it out.
I would say feeding her in smaller portions throughout the day. Or...you could get a rock (small enough to fit in the bowl but large enough that she won't eat it) Since they have to work around the rock to get to the food, it slows them down. I have to do this with one of my cats and one of my dogs. They both wolf their food down like someone will try to take it from them. It's not really scientific..but it works.
