How to be comfortable with my guitar teacher?

Well, I am the type of person that has to know someone well to be comfortable with them and my moms friend from high school that I have never met, is going to start giving my guitar lessons and I'm gonna be all shy and stuff and I really don't want to be. So, yeah I need tips on how to be more comfortable with him. Thanks:)
