I hope this may help you.How to burn a video file that is larger than the dvd size using Burn for mac?
Well, you have two options: get bigger disks or make a smaller file
Dual-layer (or DL) DVD disks that hold 7-8.5GB of data and burn to that. They are more expensive than single-layer DVD's but not too much. You can even get a single disk or a 3-pack if you only need a couple. Your Mac will burn a DL disk no problem.
The other option is to shrink the video - something that's a lot more complicated. I'm going to guess you have a raw, single video file, right? Not a VIDEO_TS folder or an authored DVD media format? This is just a single AVI/MP4/FLV (or whatever) file, right? That's going to have to be compressed, which probably means it's going to loose some quality. You could try using Handbrake (it's a free program) to convert it to a MP4 with H.264 coding. That may shrink the file size without loosing much quality (but I can't say for sure without knowing what the current file type is and how it was coded).
If it IS a DVD-authoring project (something that will play on a TV's DVD player) you can use Toast Titanium (not free) to compress the VIDEO_TS folder to fit on a specific disk, but it's going to degrade the quality - from a little to a lot depending on how much compression it needs.
So in summary: buy a DL disk - it's the easiest. :) Or use Handbrake to see if you can compress it more without loosing too much quality.

I would say find the DVD Creator software and see if there are later drivers available, this is what most IT support people would look for first.
to be honest without using a movie maker and cutting it to different lengths your best bet would to be use DVDR 9 these disks take 9gb of data so you will be able to fit most of your videos on these and anything else you put on disk.
